Bruxism by Sleeping Disorders 365

Sleeping Disorders 365According to Sleeping Disorders 365, Bruxism is a sleeping disorder that results in the grinding of teach and possible clenching of the jaw.

To some extent this oral parafunctional activity occurs to most people as they sleep but not to the severity as those individuals that suffer from Bruxism. This disorder is cause by the activation of reflex chewing activity. It is important to note that this is not a habit that is learned. Chewing is controlled by a reflexive nerve pathway and a higher control stemming from the brains.

During sleep this higher control is inactive and the reflexive control takes over thus causing Bruxism to occur. Sleeping Disorders 365 says for the most part this is not enough to become a health concern, but in some individuals it can be.
